The Ins & Outs of Checking In & Out

Check-In:

• Check-in begins at 3pm. Please let us know your estimated arrival time so that we can prepare for your welcome.

• Please call us in the event of your confirmed check-in time changing on the day of arrival.
   

Check-out:

• Checkout time is 11am. 

• If your plans require a departure after this time please notify us and we will accommodate you when possible.
   

Payment:

• Auburn Bed and Breakfast at Shoofly Farm accepts all major credit/debit cards, as well as cash payments.
  There is a 2.5% fee if using any credit card for processing fees - Thank you for understanding.
   

Cancellation: 

• If booking 4 weeks or more: In advance of your stay, a non-refundable holding deposit of 50% of the total for your stay will be required no later than 48 hours after booking. (This gives you 48 hours to cancel free of charge). The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to check-in. Cancellations made after the deposit has been made, and up to 4 weeks prior to your stay, will result in the loss of the 50% deposit, plus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made 2 to 4 weeks prior of your stay, will result in a 75% loss of deposit, plus a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made 2 weeks or less prior to your stay will not be refunded, but you will receive a 25% credit towards a future stay with Auburn Bed and Breakfast at Shoofly Farms.

• If booking 2 weeks or less: Prior to your stay, full payment is required at booking, and no refunds will be issued for cancellation. 

• Please Note: We will do our best to try and re-book the canceled reservation. If we succeed, you will be notified and partially reimbursed based on any losses incurred.
   

Length of Stay:

• We have a two-night minimum requirement for all stays taking place on weekends, holidays, or during special events at Shoofly Farms. 

• One-night stays are available, at the owner's discretion, for stays between Monday through Thursday. Please call us directly at 201-835-4672 for any one-night overnight stay inquiries.
   

Occupancy:

• Room rates are based upon a two person occupancy. 

• A service charge of $40 per night will be added for each additional guest. Additional guests are only permitted in The Legacy Cottage and The Penthouse Loft Retreat.

• All additional guests must be cleared with the owner at the time of booking.

• Any guests not indicated at the time of booking will not be permitted to stay.

• Extra guests can, at the owner's discretion, be allowed to join for breakfast at an additional charge. Any breakfast-only  guests must be stated and cleared at the time of booking.
   

 Minors & Children:

• Auburn Bed and Breakfast at Shoofly Farm is an adult only establishment. The environment is designed for a quiet, relaxing, comfortable, and fun getaway for those of adult age. 

• Any guests younger than 12 - 18 years of age must be cleared with the owner prior to booking or will not be permitted to stay. 

• Children up to 11 are permitted at events with permission of the owner, and must be accompanied by way of pre-arranged adult supervision and childcare at all times.
   

Housekeeping Service, Towels, and Essentials:

• Limited housekeeping service is provided. Should you require any attention in your room, please notify us and we’d be happy to accommodate you to the best of our ability.

• Please help us preserve the life of our towels by using the black make-up remover cloths provided instead of the white towels and washcloths to remove makeup or any other staining materials.

• Please do not use towels or washcloths to clean up any messes. If and when a mess occurs please notify a member of the Shoofly Farm staff so that we can take care of this for you.

• Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided in your guest suite as an amenity of your stay at Shoofly Farm.
   

Eating and Drinking:

• Please inform a Shoofly Farm staff member of your breakfast order to ensure you get your choice of breakfast.

• Breakfast will be served on the porch, weather permitting, from 7AM - 10AM. If you have any special requests outside of these times due to booked activities, etc. Please let us know so that we can work with you to provide alternative arrangements.

• Please inform us in advance of any allergies or dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate them for you.

• Complimentary coffee and tea is available during your stay. Coffee is provided each morning at the coffee station in the communal living area at The Farmhouse.

• Each room is supplied with Berkey filtered water in a sustainable glass bottle located in the mini-fridge. These can be refilled at one of our water purifiers located in the Farmhouse. Please return all bottles to your suite to avoid a $12 replacement fee. 

• Each suite is stocked with complimentary light refreshments and coffee. Thank you for refraining from any eating or drinking in the beds. ​
   

Noise Level, Visitors, and Parties:

• We ask that all guests be considerate of others staying on the property and refrain from excessive noise levels, especially between the hours of 9PM and 9AM.

• Parties are not permitted on the property. If you wish to host an event on the property, it must be approved in advance through the owner.

• Auburn Bed and Breakfast at Shoofly Farm is for the exclusive use of our registered guests only. Any individuals not staying on the property are only permitted to visit at the owner's discretion and with the owner's prior knowledge.

• No unregistered guests are allowed overnight.
   

Kitchen Use:

• The kitchen is a private area for health and safety regulations. If you wish to use anything in the kitchen or need any item stored there, please ask one of the staff and we will be happy to assist you.
   

Pets:

• For the relaxation and pleasure of all our Farmhouse guests, pets are only permitted in our cottages with special permission from the owner. An exception applies for service animals that may be accommodated within our facility. 

• If approved, pets must remain on a leash at all times when outside of your cottage or suite. 

• All waste from furry friends must be picked up and disposed of to avoid a $25 fee for each time your pets' waste is removed and cleaned by a Shoofly Farm staff member.
   

Public Areas / Privacy:

• Please note that you are renting a private suite and/or cottage, not the entire house or property. All public areas of the house are shared spaces, and should be respected as such to be mindful to everyone on the property.
   

Parking:

• Parking is complimentary, with the limit of one car per room rented at Shoofly Farm.

• Parking is only allowed in designated parking areas next to the Farmhouse, Sugar Shack, and Legacy Cottage. 

• Thank you for not driving on the grass, as this is prohibited. The property has underground pipes that can be damaged if driven over or parked on. 
   

AC/Heating:

• Auburn Bed and Breakfast at Shoofly Farm offers central air conditioning and heating within the Farmhouse. Please do not adjust the thermostat in any of the public areas of the property.

• Each Suite/Cottage, with exception of the Master Suite, has an individual thermostat that controls the temperature. This can be adjusted for your comfort during your stay. Please refrain from using cool air conditioning in winter, and instead, turn the heat off.  Thank you. 
   

Lighting:

• Please turn off lights in your suite/cottage when leaving your room for the day or evening to conserve energy.

• Do not adjust the lighting in any of the public areas at The Farmhouse.
   

Safety and Security:

• The use of candles, incense, or any other flammable or combustible material is prohibited in the rooms.

• Please do not share your room key or lock code with anyone not staying in the room with you.

• Please lock your suite/cottage door when you are leaving the property as we (Shoofly Farm) are not responsible for any theft or damage to property.

• Do not lock or unlock any of the doors to the Farmhouse.
   

Lost Keys:

• Please return your key upon check out. Any lost keys will incur a $25 replacement fee per key.
   

Damages and Losses:

• Guests are liable for any loss, damage, or personal injury they may cause or incur on-premises. We will not accept responsibility for your losses, damages, or injuries while on or off the premises during your stay.

• If any damage is found in your suite or cabin upon departure, a minimum restoration fee of $75 will be charged.

• Please keep your room door and car doors locked at all times as we will not be liable for the actions of other guests staying on the property.

• For any problems with, or damage to, your suite or cottage, please inform us at check-in so that we can fix the issue and ensure that you have the best and most pleasant stay possible with us. 

• Do not flush any material other than the toilet paper provided down the toilet, even if the product is marked as "flushable". At Shoofly Farm, we operate on a septic tank system, and backups can occur if anything other than normal and minimal usage of toilet paper is flushed into our plumbing system.
